Greetings neighbors and fellow members of the Londonderry Home Owners Association
As 2015 nears its end, it is time to look ahead to 2016 and the future of our neighborhood leadership. Every year, we hold elections to select the members of our Board of Directors. This year, we will hold our election on Saturday, December 5th.
But before we hold elections, we need candidates to run for the various Board of Director positions and that is the reason for this note. Our bylaws provide two methods to become a candidate to run for a board position. One is to be recommended by the Nominating Committee and the other is to be nominated, seconded, and to accept the nomination at the regular November monthly board meeting.
The President of the Board of Directors has appointed the members of the nominating committee and we are now actively seeking out those who wish to put in the time, effort, and care needed to continue the excellent job of our current Board in 2016.
All board positions require persons who are:
Willing to devote time and effort toward keeping up our neighborhood
Protect the property values of the membership
Preparing for and deal with emergencies as they arise
Managing the budget and priorities of the membership
These are not two hours per month positions. Board members work behind the scenes managing contractors, inspecting facilities, planning and facilitating membership activities, working with home owners and myriad other activities. All Board business and decisions are conducted at monthly meetings.
Any LHOA member in good standing may run for any Board position.
Positions:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Sergeant At Arms
Newsletter Editor
Parliamentarian
The nominating committee will review all applications and make its recommendation to the Board at the November meeting. One person will be named on the recommendation for each Board position. After that, open nominations will be taken from the floor. Nominations must be seconded and the nominee must accept the nomination at that time to be included on the ballot.
So if you are thinking about giving back to this community that we have all chosen to live and grow in, please fill out the "Candidacy Notice Form" and send it or give it to any member of the nominating team before Friday, November 6th. Please pass along this information to interested neighbors who may not have received the recent email or who are not aware of our website.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
